I wish this website didn’t exist. It does exist because my beloved Kat, my wife, my partner in every respect, passed away on September 11, 2015. As a way of dealing with my grief I began to write. Around November 1, I wrote Kat’s eulogy for her memorial service in New Jersey. In the middle of December I started to write Kat’s Book, the story of our lives together. I didn’t know how much I can write on that subject. Now it looks like it will be a full book size memoir. I joined a writing class in January and I have been writing on a lot of subjects. I have the opposite of writers block. I never run out of things to write about. In all of this I am inspired by Kat. My deep love for Kat, and her love for me, can be discovered in much of the writing displayed on this website, particularly Kat’s Book.
About 25 years ago Kat and I started a business where we produced personalized children’s books on our computer and sold them at church bazaars, craft shows, etc. In two or three years we only lost about $500. It was Kat’s idea and, as was everything with her, it was a great deal of fun. The name of that business was BobKat Press. Here we are, 25 years later, BobKat Press is resurrected. I think I have become a writer because of Kat’s inspiration. I hope this website will serve as a memorial to her, one that her friends and family, and new friends, will enjoy for many years. If Kat doesn’t appear to be within a particular writing, I assure you she was with me when I wrote it. She is always with me. I hope that, as a result of the writing on BobKat Press, she will sometimes be with you.
